Madonna's son David Banda says he's been "scavenging" for food after moving out of her place.
During a recent Instagram Live, the music megastar's 18-year-old son Banda told viewers about his post-grad situation. When asked by a fan how he "likes living" on his own, Banda had a surprising response, according to People and the New York Post.
"It's lovely to experience it being 9 o'clock at night, me being hungry and realizing that I don't have enough money to get food, but we don't have enough food in the house and scavenging," he joked, adding that "it's fun."
Earlier this year, Madonna posted a heartfelt update for fans on Instagram featuring Banda and his sister Mercy James, who is also 18, as the duo celebrated an exciting achievement: graduating from high school!

"No Easy way into the motherhood game. No manual or University," Madonna wrote, adding that motherhood is just trial and error and learn and succeed and then fail again." Madonna is mom to six children — Lourdes, 27, Rocco, 23, and her twins Stella and Estere, 11— including James and Banda, who was born in Malawi and she adopted in 2008.

Madonna previously brought son David Banda to perform on her Celebration Tour
Last September, to commemorate Banda's 18th birthday, Madonna posted an Instagram post celebrating his special day writing, that his name means "speak the truth" and she "couldn't think of a better name for an artist."
"It is impossible to believe that almost 18 years have gone by since We met you in Mchinji at Home of Hope Orphanage!" Madonna wrote.
Before moving out of his mom's house, Banda played an important role in his mom's Celebration Tour which wrapped in May and first began in October 2023, according to an interview with W Magazine.
"Because The Celebration Tour is a retrospective of my life, I thought it made perfect sense to include all of my children still living with me in the show," she told W Magazine. "As they all dance, and play musical instruments, and have been doing so for years. David has played guitar since he was a child."
